For the rest of the school year, students in all Art classes are working on animations. Students developed concepts for animations within two big ideas: life and death, and visual culture. We discussed multiple facets of both the topics then groups were off to brainstorm together. Many groups are building elaborate props, others are creating their own drawings to animate with paper or dry-erase markers. We are fighting through the testing chaos and making some really exciting work! You may watch this year's animations here.

To kick off this semester, students in all classes were sent on a journey to create forced perspective photos! I took some interesting photos of the process and you can find the students' results here on Artsonia. Technology Coordinator Keith Barnes is in Art! Mr. Barnes & I are assisting students in creating digital artworks this week. Students began looking at artists who make art about power, some of which use digital media. After brainstorming ideas with students, it was time to learn some skills. Here he is helping Art 1 students, Kevin Bratcher and Britney Thompson.
