Field Trip to the Speed Art Museum with Art 3 & 4 - Special thanks to Anne Tilford and First Sergeant Siler for driving the vans for us and joining our tour! Students had a blast looking at the incredible collection our local Speed has to offer. I must admit though, I wonder if having Starbucks on campus was their favorite part. I'm so proud of these students, some of them are responsible for helping fund the trip by providing items for a holiday sale back in December.

I am so excited to have this visitor in Art this week! Students have the privilege of experiencing debate with a National award-winning debate competitor who was the first competitor sent to Nationals for my alma mater, Murray State University. He is also my "little" brother! Cody Wall has introduced key characteristics of debate and its structure then judged our students who had speaking parts. Everyone did an excellent job providing evidence and presenting their arguments for the following art-related topics: This house believes Art should be a career pathway, This house believes in Donald Trump's proposed budget cut for the NEA, Abstract Expressionism is a valid form of art. Also this week, Art History class performed their melodramas! This slide show is the second one below. |
